Book Donation Requirements

GATE Academy welcomes book and school supply donations that support literacy, numeracy, and lifelong learning. To ensure quality and usefulness, please follow the guidelines below:

We Accept:

• Authored literacy and numeracy textbooks
• Popular fiction and non-fiction books (softcover or hard cover).
• Books in good condition (no missing pages, major damage, or excessive markings)
• Primary, secondary, and college textbooks published in 2002 or later
• Reference books published in 2007 or later
• Medical, nursing, IT, and law books published in 2007 or later
• Some Bibles or religious texts (please place in a separate, clearly marked box labelled “Religious Texts”)
• School supplies such as paper, pencils, pens, wall charts, maps, and related materials
• Books that are relevant and engaging for African readers, even if gently used

Important Notes

• If mailing books, please ensure boxes weigh no more than 50kg.
• Do not use non-recyclable packaging materials (e.g., plastic bubble wrap).
• GATE Academy does not cover mailing or shipping costs for donations sent to our warehouses. This policy helps us keep operating costs low and maximize the number of books reaching students in need.
